Dear Courier-Journal,
It was distressing to read your article "Pipeline Issue will not go away." (http://www.courier-journal.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2012301220026)
I understand it's necessary to have a Washington correspondent, but are you paying James R. Carroll or is the GOP and/or Transcanada? I ask because he's apparently copy/pasting their press releases on the Keystone XL pipeline rejection without fact-checking.
Keystone XL has arguably more union opposition than support, but Carroll ignored the union opposition to the pipeline in his story completely, because it was inconvenient for his story.
He ignored little unions, like this one:
"Obama has acted wisely."- the UAW (http://ow.ly/1Ey6OH)
One of the organizers of Ottawa's civil disobedience uprising action opposing the pipeline Ottawa was President of the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union, Dave Coles. In fact, he was the first to climb the fence and be arrested that day. (http://www.commondreams.org/view/2011/09/30-6)

The Domestic Workers Union, the National Domestic Workers Alliance, and two other AFL-CIO unions, the Transport Workers and the Amalgamated Transit Union, oppose Keystone as well. (http://peoplesworld.org/domestic-workers-united-occupy-wall-street-oppose-keystone-xl-pipeline/)
I did not spend 3 nights in jail for opposing this pipeline so that my hometown paper could go back to spewing news only from the oil industry's point of view without fact-checking it.
A printed clarification would be appreciated. Thank you.
peace,Curtis Morrison
